Proofreading for independent authors
When your book is ready to be published, the final stage is to have it proofread. Think of this as the quality control procedure. Any mistake that is left in will be visible to your readers, so this is the time to weed out any outstanding errors: mistakes in spelling and grammar, punctuation errors, formatting glitches, garbled syntax, incomplete sentences, missing sections, and so on.
It is best to have your text proofread by someone with no prior knowledge of the work; they will see the material afresh and are more likely to spot any errors that have slipped through previously.
I am a very experienced proofreader, and I can take your material up to professional publishing standards. I usually work either on the Word document, using Track Changes so you can see the errors I pick up, or by marking up a PDF.
