I offer proofreading, copyediting, development editing  and critical review services to fiction writers. I will make sure your work is professional, polished, marketable and ready to reach the audience you want.

I have edited novels including thrillers, young adult fiction, science fiction, fantasy, literary fiction, crime, romance and adventure.

The editorial process includes:

• A chapter-by-chapter synopsis. This allows me to keep an eye on plot developments and narrative flow, making it easier to spot possible plot holes, contradictions, structural issues or implausibilities.
  
• A character list with detailed notes on main players and subsidiary personnel. This gives me a comprehensive overview of the cast of the novel, making it easier to spot contradictions or inconsistencies.
  
• A style sheet for the work. This ensures stylistic consistency throughout the book, including preferred spellings, hyphenations, capitalisation, place names, specialist terms, jargon and so on.
  
• Notes and feedback. This will be my general response to your work including, if needed, suggestions for areas to review or revise.
